Mapping of Euclidean Resonance on Static Resonant Tunneling
نویسنده
چکیده
Quantum tunneling through an almost classical potential barrier can be strongly enhanced by a nonstationary field so that the penetration through the barrier becomes not exponentially small. This constitutes an extremely unusual phenomenon of quantum physics called Euclidean resonance. A certain nonstationary barrier is proposed with a very low WKB tunneling rate. The quantum dynamics of this barrier is mapped on resonant tunneling across a static double barrier with a resonant level inside. The real penetration through the dynamical barrier is not exponentially small providing an example of Euclidean resonance. Therefore, the Schrödinger equation allows solutions of the type of Euclidean resonance. The counterintuitive phenomenon of Euclidean resonance is a dynamical analogue of static resonant tunneling. متن کاملEuclidean resonance and a new type of nuclear reactions
The extremely small probability of quantum tunneling through an almost classical potential barrier may become not small under the action of the specially adapted nonstationary field. The tunneling rate has a sharp peak as a function of the particle energy when it is close to the certain resonant value defined by the nonstationary field (Euclidean resonance). Alpha decay of nuclei has a small pr...

Metallic nanoparticles can exhibit very large optical extinction in the visible spectrum due to localized surface plasmon resonance. Spherical plasmonic nanoparticles have been the subject of numerous studies in recent years due to the fact that the scattering response of spheres can be analytically evaluated using Mie theory. However a major disadvantage of metallic spherical nanoparticles is ...

In this paper a resonant tunnelling quantum well infrared photodetector (RT-QWIP) is discussed. Each period of this photodetector structure comprises of a resonant tunnelling structure (AlAs/AlGaAs/AlAs) nearby a quantum well (AlGaAs/GaAs). In this photodetector, photocurrent is produced when an electron makes a transition from the ground state of the well to an excited state which is coupled t...

The extremely small probability of tunneling through an almost classical potential barrier may become not small under the action of the specially adapted non-stationary signal which selects the certain particle energy ER. For particle energies close to this value, the tunneling rate is not small during a finite interval of time and has a very sharp peak at the energy ER. After entering inside t...
